According to St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken J. Mascara, an unmarked St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office car containing 3 officers (members of the Fort Pierce Police Department – St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office summer task force) was hit by gunfire shortly after 5:30 p.m. yesterday.
The car was heading north on 17th Street, Fort Pierce, near 810 North 17th Street.
No one was hurt.
Deputies with the assistance of Fort Pierce officers are investigating. No one is in custody as witnesses are questioned.
