Help Us Light the Way at the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum
Jupiter, FL: The Loxahatchee River Historical Society is looking for friendly folks to volunteer for various positions on weekdays or weekends at the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum. Volunteers will have a friendly smile, willingness to work with the public, and an interest in local history. Retirees are welcomed and students age 15 or older may also volunteer year-round and receive community service hours for school. Eligible student volunteers may also apply for a summer internship position.
Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum offers climbing tours of the landmark 1860 lighthouse. The waterfront Museum in the restored WWII building offers the exhibit Five Thousand Years on the Loxahatchee. Outdoor exhibits include the Tindall Pioneer Homestead, Seminole Chickee and the Lighthouse Keeper’s Workshop.
Volunteer positions include: Lighthouse Tour Guides, Nature Tour Guides, Educational Programs assistants, School Group Tours Guides, Gift Shop & Admissions clerks, Museum Front Desk, Tindall Pioneer Homestead tours, Wedding assistants and Special Events volunteers. Meet folks from every part of the world while volunteering at the nation’s first eastern Outstanding Natural Area…a fun and rewarding learning experience!
