Planning Treasure Coast Weddings 101

Hopefully we can take some of the stress of wedding planning off of you with some of these pointers. Choosing from these wonderful Treasure Coast wedding venues can be exciting, but there are also a few other things to keep in mind.

  • Permits for Beach Weddings: If you’re hosting your ceremony on a public beach, check with local authorities about permits and guidelines.
  • Weather Considerations: The Treasure Coast enjoys a warm, tropical climate most of the year. Plan for potential rain showers during summer months, and have a backup indoor location if you’re leaning towards outdoor venues.
  • Local Accommodations: Many venues have, or partner with, nearby lodging for a seamless experience for you and your guests. It never hurts to look at other hotels and bed and breakfasts in the area so visitors have options.

Along with a great venue, you’ll want to consider some of these essential local services:

  • Wedding Planners: Local professionals who know the ins and outs of Treasure Coast venues as well as logistics and planning.
  • Officiants: From traditional to modern ceremonies, an officiant can help tailor your vows to your preferences.
  • Photographers & Videographers: Capture every moment with experienced local creatives who are familiar with Treasure Coast wedding venues and backdrops.

  • Identification: The bride and groom will need a valid, government-issued identification.
  • Social Security Number: Have your Social Security number ready during the application process.
  • Previous Marriages: If you’ve previously been married, have the exact date of the end of it.
  • Age Requirements: Applicants for marriage licenses will need to be at least 18 years old. Minors need parental consent
  • Family Law Handbook: Bride and groom are required to read the Florida Family Law Handbook before applying.
  • Waiting Period: All Florida residents have a three-day waiting period unless they complete a premarital preparation course. Non-Florida residents are exempt from the waiting period.
