STUART, FL – Sharks may strike fear in the average Floridian’s mind, but do they really deserve such a bad rap? Michelle Byriel from the Florida Oceanographic Center will answer this and more at the Blake Library’s John F. Armstrong Wing, 2351 SE Moneterey Road, Stuart on Tuesday, August 11 from 11am-12pm with “The Truth About Sharks.” Families are welcome to join in on this educational presentation and hands-on exhibit as Byriel teaches the biology of sharks along with debunking myths and highlighting the important role these top predators play in the health of the food chain.
