Police arrested a suspect in a hit-and-run crash that killed a war hero from Vero Beach.

The incident happened in January in Savannah, Georgia.

72 year old Peter Meyer was walking his dog across a street when he was hit by a car.  The driver took off.

Savannah Police arrested 50-year-old Darcia Wilson in the case.

Investigators first questioned Wilson about the incident at her home in Jacksonville last week after receiving a tip through Crime Stoppers.

Authorities found evidence from her red 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe that linked it to the crash scene.

Police said Wilson confessed to the hit-and-run.
