Motorist Driving on Wrong Side of Road Crashes and Hides

MOTORIST DRIVING ON WRONG SIDE OF ROAD CRASHES, THEN ATTEMPTS TO HIDE FROM DEPUTIES, TO NO AVAIL

Two people are in custody, following a single car crash that caused a power outage in parts of Jensen Beach.

A motorist called in to report a car driving on the wrong side of the road on NE Dixie Highway around 7:44pm. That car crashed, hitting a guide wire on a pole. The witness told deputies that the two people inside the car, got out and fled on foot. Deputies on the 300-shift, K-9 Units and Air 1 quickly set up a perimeter in the area. Deputies were able to track and arrest both suspects, who were hiding not far from the scene.

The driver of the car, 19-year old Jenna Kissam of Port St. Lucie was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of a crash with injuries, driving with a suspended license with knowledge, and burglary. Her passenger, 24-year old Joseph Gunn of Palm City, was charged with resisting arrest without violence. Gunn also had warrants for his arrest out of another county. Both subjects were taken to the Martin County Jail. FPL has been notified about the power outages.
