From 1860 to 1939, more than 70 different civilian keepers served at Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse.  The light was then actively manned by the Coast Guard from 1939 to 1987, with approximately 100 different military keepers serving here.  Some keepers were here for only a few weeks; one was here for 40 years.  Who were these men that kept the light shining for so long, and what were their lives beyond our lighthouse?  Learn about some of the more interesting characters and their families – local pioneers, career lighthouse keepers, veterans, sailors, and more – that have been lighthouse keepers in Jupiter.
