Former PSL Deputy had multiple reports of misconduct

Prior History of Misconduct

A former deputy accused of negotiating sex acts with a woman while on duty resigned from his previous job as his supervisors were taking steps to fire him for misconduct.

Former St Lucie County Sheriff’s Deputy Evan Cramer had 12 documented reports of misconduct against him plus two write ups while a member of the Sanford Police Department. Cramer was a probationary officer there for less than a year. He was hired in March of 2015 and resigned in January of 2016.

St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken Mascara fired Cramer after his arrest this week on a sexual battery charge. Cramer appeared in court Thursday morning where a judge set his bond at $850,000 and announced probable cause on a second charge of seeking a bribe. Investigators believe he may have done this before. Authorities are asking potential victims to contact the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division at 772-462-3230.
