UF/IFAS St. Lucie County Extension Launches Virtual Your Yard in the Sunshine State Series

Kate Rotindo, Urban Horticulture Agent at the UF/IFAS St. Lucie County Extension Office, will be facilitating a series which will be done live once a month called: Your Yard in the Sunshine State. This series will be an opportunity for you to ask gardening or landscape questions in real time such as

  • What plants might be good for your yard
  • When is a good time to plant vegetables
  • How to get rid of weeds in your lawn
  • Help to identify what type of plant is in your yard, help identifying a pesky insect in your home or if you just want to know what do to do in your garden or yard.

The series will be held through Zoom, to participate in the meeting you must register by clicking on the link that will be provided on the UF/IFAS St. Lucie County Master Gardener Facebook page, or by visiting Eventbrite. This free series will be held once a month for an hour. Please join us for the first one in the Series which is Your Yard in the Sunshine State – November Edition on Thursday, Nov. 12 at noon. This particular edition will focus on vegetable gardening, using mulch and insect-related problems with palm trees.

For all plant or insect identifications, please send a high resolution picture in an email with the subject line “Sunshine State” to Master Gardener Volunteer Program Coordinator, Danielle Shalginewicz at 772-462-1445 or DShalginewicz@ufl.edualong with any question you may have about the series  or if you are in need of the link.
