Tropical Depression 13 forecast to be hurricane when it nears Florida
Miami, Fl (treasurecoast.com)Tropical Depression 13, which is churning west in the Atlantic Ocean, is now expected to strengthen into a tropical storm later on Friday and a Category 1 hurricane on Monday as it nears the Florida peninsula.
While parts of south and Central Florida are in the cone, forecasters say it is still too early to predict what impacts the storm could have on the Sunshine State, but it is expected to become a hurricane.
The system is expected to be near Puerto Rico on Saturday and current models show it near Florida early next week.
