A tragedy has left a 1-year-old girl dead.
Fort Pierce Police say 43-year-old Larry Hamilton was driving westbound Saturday night when he attempted to pass two cars and hit little Azaria Morris in front of her home on Avenue M.
Police and St. Lucie County Fire crews arrived minutes later and Azaria was flown to St. Mary’s Hospital where she died Monday morning.
Investigators say the driver was also hospitalized after a confrontation with Azaria’s father.
The loss has left family members and neighbors devastated.
