THE FULL MONTY BARES IT ALL (MAYBE) ON THE BARN THEATRE STAGE
SEPTEMBER 16 THRU OCTOBER 3RD
Stuart, Fla. The Tony Award-nominated musical comedy, “The Full Monty” hits the Barn stage for the first time and as its Director, Jim Docter, says, “This is one show you will never see a high school perform.” A raucous pop-rock musical send-up of gender expectations and stereotypes…that takes it all off! The unemployed men of a now-closed steel mill do household chores, while the womenfolk draw the paychecks and enjoy the privileges of weekly girls-nights-out devoted to ogling male striptease artists. When the men note the monetary rewards of baring booty, it inspires a scheme for restoring solvency – not to mention morale. They become amateur dancers instructed in burlesque bump-and-grind by the former factory supervisor to piano accompaniment supplied by a geriatric vaudevillian. The big question remains to be answered. Will they bare it all?
