St Lucie Sheriff searches for evidence in missing person case

St. Lucie County, Fl (treasurecoast.com) -Sheriff Ken Mascara announced today that detectives have received a tip regarding the possible location of evidence in a missing person case.
According to Sheriff Ken Mascara, detectives began their investigation on Monday, March 13, using ground-penetrating radar and K-9 to search for any anomalies underground near the 5800 block of Palmetto Drive in Fort Pierce, Florida. Additional Sheriff’s Office personnel arrived on scene shortly after to dig and sift through excavated soil.
“It is too early to tell whether or not a crime has occurred,” said Sheriff Mascara. “But our detectives are working nonstop to thoroughly investigate the area, and they will remain on site until our search is complete.”
Detectives are in the initial stages of this investigation, and no further information is available at this time. The Sheriff’s Office will update the public as we learn more.
