St. Lucie County Hosts Fair Housing Poster Contest

St. Lucie County Community Services invites students ages 8-12 to participate in the First Annual Fair Housing Poster Contest with a chance to win a Kindle e-Reader, two-night hotel stay and passes to the 2016 St. Lucie County Fair.

Entries can be submitted now through Friday, Dec. 16. The goal of the contest is to help the youth of our community understand that under federal and state fair housing laws, all residents of Florida have equal access to housing regardless of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability, and familial status. Awareness of fair housing promotes a better sense of understanding, acceptance, and appreciation for the diversity in our neighborhoods and throughout our community.

All participants will receive a certificate of participation from St. Lucie County. Artwork submitted will be on public display throughout the county’s libraries, and becomes the property of St. Lucie County and will not be returned.

Prizes include:

  • First Place: A Kindle E-Reader: three-day/two-night stay at the Fairfield Inn and Suites in Fort Pierce and two Mega Passes to the 2016 St. Lucie County Fair (Feb. 26-March 6)
  • Second Place: Four Gate Passes and four Single-Day Ride Bands for the 2016 St. Lucie County Fair (Feb. 26-March 6) and two adult and two child admissions for Indian River Wildlife Boat Tours
  • Third Place: Four Gates Passes to the 2016 St. Lucie County Fair (Feb. 26-March 6) and one adult and one child admission for Indian River Wildlife Boat Tours

Each entry must be accompanied by a Contest Registration Form signed by a parent or guardian. Only one participant name per entry form. Entries without signed registration forms taped (not stapled) to the back of the entry will not be eligible for prizes.

All Entries must be received at St. Lucie County Community Services: 437 N. 7th St. Fort Pierce, FL 34950 or St. Lucie County Veterans Services Office, Dorothy J. Conrad Building, 1664 S.E. Walton Road, Suite 205, Port St. Lucie, FL 34952 by 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 16.
