St. Lucie County Hosts Fair Housing Poster Contest
St. Lucie County Community Services invites students ages 8-12 to participate in the First Annual Fair Housing Poster Contest with a chance to win a Kindle e-Reader, two-night hotel stay and passes to the 2016 St. Lucie County Fair.
Entries can be submitted now through Friday, Dec. 16. The goal of the contest is to help the youth of our community understand that under federal and state fair housing laws, all residents of Florida have equal access to housing regardless of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability, and familial status. Awareness of fair housing promotes a better sense of understanding, acceptance, and appreciation for the diversity in our neighborhoods and throughout our community.
All participants will receive a certificate of participation from St. Lucie County. Artwork submitted will be on public display throughout the county’s libraries, and becomes the property of St. Lucie County and will not be returned.
Prizes include:
- First Place: A Kindle E-Reader: three-day/two-night stay at the Fairfield Inn and Suites in Fort Pierce and two Mega Passes to the 2016 St. Lucie County Fair (Feb. 26-March 6)
- Second Place: Four Gate Passes and four Single-Day Ride Bands for the 2016 St. Lucie County Fair (Feb. 26-March 6) and two adult and two child admissions for Indian River Wildlife Boat Tours
