Scams – Beware
St Lucie County Sheriff Ken Mascara is once again warning residents to be aware of numerous phone scams spreading throughout our community.
These scams take many forms including, computer viruses that can supposedly be “fixed” for a fee; lottery scams asking you to “send money”; claims that you owe money to the IRS; and claims that your grandchildren were arrested and need money.
Think twice before offering to send any money over the phone or Internet. Most times, it’s a scam.
