CBS 12 reports the Palm City boy, who suffered a severe brain injury after his home was fumigated, has been moved to a rehabilitation hospital.

Family members also said they celebrated Peyton’s 10th birthday on Saturday, even though his actual birthday was Thursday. A Facebook post says it was the first time Peyton has seen his family together since the incident three weeks ago.

As an investigation continues, the community is rallying around the boy and his family.

In mid-August, Peyton and his family left their Palm City home so it could be fumigated. Family members say the parents were told it was okay to return to the house, but the next morning they were all sick.

Peyton was the worst off, they say, unable to talk, walk, or stand, and he was having seizures.

On Saturday, the YMCA hosts a community youth soccer clinic at its Stuart campus, there will be a fund raising auction for the McCaughey’s. A GoFundMe site has raised more than $45,000, as of Saturday afternoon.

The state has ordered Sunland Pest Control, of West Palm Beach, to cease fumigations for now, as the probe is just under way.
