MCSO has busy day with Wild Life
Tuesday morning for MCSO Animal Services Officers started off poolside, after a gator slipped into a family pool on Sandpipe Lane in Stuart. Officers fished the gator out and sent him on his way to a more appropriate pool of water. That’s the second time an alligator commandeered the family pool. Mating season is upon us which could be the reason for the roving gators.
Shortly afterwards, the crew headed to Sewall’s Point, where a screech owl took up residence inside a home under construction along Island Way. Workers called MCSO to report that the owl was lounging in the attic when they arrived for work. Officers on scene there gently evicted the bird sending her to a more appropriate wooded dwelling. Oddly, this is the second screech owl removed from a Sewall’s Point home in a month. There is no real explanation for the owls choosing homes over trees.
Although the gator and the owl were not happy about having to move out of either home, both were relocated without incident or injury.
