Martin Sheriff: 4 Swimmers rescued after getting caught in dangerous rip current

Martin County, Fl (treasurecoast.com)- The Martin County Sheriff reported 4 swimmers rescued after getting caught in a dangerous rip current.
Here are the details:
A close call for four swimmers who were in serious distress after getting caught in a dangerous rip current off Santa Lucia Beach today.
MCSO Community Policing Deputy Jake Blaszyk responded to the call and could see how dire the situation was, so he removed his duty gear and swam out to rescue the group. Deputy Blaszyk was able to grab two of the swimmers and pull them out of the current and back to shore. Martin County Fire Rescue First Responders were able to reach the other two swimmers and pull them to safety as well. Two of those swimmers were transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.
