Man Caught Beating Teen With Autism Going to Prison for 30 Years
A teen charged with beating a student with autism last year has officially been sentenced.
Andrew Wheeler received a 30 year prison term for the beating to Aaron Hill at a house party in August, 2014.
The incident was caught on tape and went viral after being released last year. A detective recognized Wheeler in the video punching and kneeing hill.
Wheeler was arrested and put in the Okeechobee County Jail. The incident sparked a social media campaign called “Justice for Aaron.”
The sentence was not a surprise, but Wheeler’s family is still not happy about it.
Hill was taken out of school after his family says he was emotionally scarred by the attack.
