Lead suspect in his wife’s murder found dead at Sawgrass Mills
Sunrise, Fla- A Vero Beach man, the lead suspect in his wife’s murder Sunday, shot himself to death Monday while parked in Sunrise’s Sawgrass Mills area.
The Indian River Sheriff’s Office confirmed the man found Monday dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound was Pedro Torres. IRSO put a B.O.L.O out on him Sunday morning. This was after they found Torres’ wife, 45-year-old Vicky Torres, dead in her home at 7:45 a.m. They believe Pedro Torres killed her before heading toward Broward County.
Around 9:30 a.m. Monday, Sunrise police swarmed the parking lot next to the Sawgrass Mills area Rooms To Go at 1905 Flamingo Rd. They surrounded a minivan matching the description of Pedro Torres’ car. About two hours later, police found Torres dead inside the minivan.
Pedro and Vicky Torres had three children. In the comments on the IRSO’s Facebook post, Several people have commented to have witnessed a violent side to Pedro Torres. Some saw him whipping his young daughter with his belt in a schoolyard.
