Indian River Equestrian Foundation has Opened its Gates

Horses1

Indian River Equestrian Foundation has opened its gates to the community. A dream for Kelly A. Walker, Founder and President of Indian River Equestrian Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that brings horses, youths and adults together for the purpose of rescue, rehabilitation and therapy. Indian River Equestrian Foundation rescues horses from owners that can no longer take care of their equine companion and from race tracks or other equine rescues that do not have the room for additional incoming rescues. They then work with these horses over a lengthy period of time to see where they are mentally, physically and socially. Once they know that they are safe to participate in our therapy program they then provide hands on therapy real time horse care experience for the elderly, youths, and special needs individuals. This is all at no cost to the participants. Currently the foundation is working with Hibiscus House, Youth Guidance and various assisted living facilities.

Indian River Equestrian Foundation is located at 8130 8th Street in Vero Beach. Donations are welcome and appreciated. Feel free to check out thier web page at www.indianriverequestrianfoundation.org and like them on their facebook page.
