High School Students Recognized By 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program

Martin County School District

The Martin County School District is proud to announce that five students have received recognition by the 61st Annual National Merit Scholarship Program for their outstanding academic performance.  The five Semifinalists have the opportunity to continue in the competition to be named National Merit Finalists and receive National Merit Scholarships.

The district congratulates the following students for their accomplishments:

Martin County School District 2015 National Merit Program Semifinalists:

Jamshed Desai, Jensen Beach High School

Lindsey Feldman, Martin County High School

Emily Parks, South Fork High School

Sarah Paust, South Fork High School

Sindy Wu, Clark Advanced Learning Center

The students are now in a pool of approximately 16,000 Semifinalists nationwide and are competing for 7,400 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $32 million that will be offered next spring.  About 90 percent of the Semifinalists are expected to attain Finalist standing, and about half of the Finalists will win a National Merit Scholarship, earning the Merit Scholar title.
