The High School Football season is over on the Treasure Coast. Vero Beach, the last area team left in the playoffs, fell on the road last week to Dr. Phillips 34-24. Three turnovers doomed Vero in the Regional Final game. Vero Beach is one of the toughest teams in the state when playing at home, but have a history of struggling on the road. This was their 12th consecutive postseason road loss. Vero Beach finish the 2016 season with a record of 11-1. With football over, it’s time for the start of the high school basketball season. Martin County and South Fork renew their rivalry Friday evening. Tune in to WSTU and WSTU 1450 dot com for live coverage of the game.
