Sergeant-Gary-Morales-Killed in the line of duty
A verdict has been reached.
The jury has found Eriese Tisdale guilty on all charges, including first degree murder of a police officer.
Tisdale was on trial for killing St. Lucie County Sheriff’s deputy Sgt. Gary Morales. He faces the death penalty.
Prosecutors argued Tisdale killed Morales in an ambush shooting during a traffic stop in Feb. 2013.
The defense said Tisdale fired in self-defense but called no witnesses during the trial.
The jury began deliberating shortly after 12 p.m.
Sentencing is scheduled to begin Wednesday.
