Grand Jury Finds Deputy Acted in Self Defense After Killing Suspect

A grand jury found that a St. Lucie County Deputy Sheriff acted in self defense when he shot and killed a suspect back in March.
Deputy Chris Jadin was acting as a member of the US Marshal’s Task Force, and was helping other Task Force members serve an Indian River County arrest warrant for attempted murder.
On March 27th the Task Force stopped a van that their suspect, Jamalis Hall, was a passenger in. Hall was armed with a knife when Deputy Jadin shot him.
Hall was transported to the Lawnwood Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
The grand jury returned their decision on Wednesday this week, deciding that there would be no charges in the case.
Jadin is a 17-year veteran of the St Lucie County Sheriff’s Department.
