Fort Pierce Police

Two gang members and their guns are off the streets of Fort Pierce this morning thanks to the Fort Pierce Police Department and the St Lucie County Sheriff’s Office.

Fort Pierce Police Officer Guy Montgomery and St. Lucie County Deputy William Snyder were driving in the 400 block of North 14th Street, Fort Pierce around 1:30 a.m. Thursday when they saw a car in a store parking lot with three people inside and cannabis smoke coming out of the windows.

In the front passenger seat was 19-year old Jakevious Smith of Port St. Lucie. In the back seat was 23-year old Patrick Lundy of Fort Pierce. The officers knew that both were documented gang members.

In the glovebox was a .40-caliber pistol and inside a compartment of the trunk was a loaded Beretta .380 caliber pistol.

Lundy and Smith were taken to jail on charges of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

A bag containing 3.5 grams of cocaine rocks was also taken from the car, and Lundy was charged with cocaine possession.
