Fort Pierce Library Looking for Treasure Coast Talent for New Monthly Program
FORT PIERCE – The Fort Pierce Branch Library is holding open auditions for a new monthly program called Second Saturdays @ the Fort Pierce Library, which is slated to run December through May 2016.
The Library staff is seeking area residents that can sing, dance, play an instrument, juggle, perform magic or have any other talents that they would like to showcase on a Saturday morning. Performers will not be paid, but will be allowed to distribute their contact information, sell their CDs and promote their acts. The library will have both indoor and outside performance spaces available. Interested performers can email or write to tell the Library staff about yourself and your act. Auditions and application materials will be reviewed by the Library’s Selection Team.
To apply residents must fill out an application form, which is available online (https://www.stlucieco.gov/lib/2ndsaturday.htm) or at the Fort Pierce Branch Library. Completed applications must be submitted to smalls@stlucieco.org, in person to the Fort Pierce Branch; or mailed to Sheila Small, Fort Pierce Branch Library, 101 Melody Lane, Fort Pierce, Fla. 34950. Applications should also provide a DVD or links to a website or video that will gives a five-minute preview of your performance.
Submissions will be accepted until the year’s performance schedule has been filled, with priority being given to Treasure Coast residents. Applicants will be contacted to schedule performances if they meet the selection criteria.
Selection Criteria includes:
- Quality, variety, and appropriateness of the performers for a community library environment
- Group size, instruments and amplifier’s appropriateness for the physical space available
Performances are fully accessible to patrons of all ages and beliefs. Performances should be no longer than 45 minutes and the inclusion of content of an inflammatory nature is prohibited. All performers will be asked to sign a contract. If the performer is under 18, the responsible adult will need to sign the contract for them. Performers need to supply all of their own equipment.
