Arizona College Campus Shooting
A shooter opened fire on Friday at Northern Arizona University’s Flagstaff campus, the school announced on Twitter. The university said that one person was killed and three people were injured in the attack.
A university spokesperson confirmed the news to ABC. The suspect was in custody early Friday, the university said. The wounded are being treated at Flagstaff Medical Center.
The shooting took place around 1:20 a.m. local time near the Mountain View Hall, a building that houses the university’s fraternities and sororities.
Friday’s attack comes just days after a gunman opened fire on an Oregon community college, killing 10 people. According to data from the pro-gun control group Everytown, this is the 144th school shooting since 2013.
