A Kaleidoscope of the Arts at the Lighthouse River Rendezvous!
Jupiter, FL: Over 150 original paintings and photographs of our beloved Loxahatchee River are beautifully presented in the pages of author/historian James Snyder’s new coffee table book A Trip Down the Loxahatchee, being unveiled at Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum’s Lighthouse River Rendezvous, on November 21 from 6-9 pm. This very special fundraiser for the Lighthouse & Museum is presented by Best Version Media.
Set at sundown with the river rolling by, this magical, lantern-lit soiree will provide guests with the elegant jazz of duo Davis and Dow, delectable hors d’oeuvres provided by local restaurants and delicious wines and beers to compliment the festivities. Fifty-two local artists contributed their works to this unique book. Guests will have a chance to mingle with the artists, see some of the original works on display and receive their very own copy of the book personalized by Snyder himself as part of their admission.
Snyder’s newest book pays homage to our federally designated Wild and Scenic River through the artist’s perspective and style along with just the right amount of narration to give book lovers some fantastic insight. “I thought the best way to make that narrative flow was to organize the book as an imaginary boat trip from the river’s headwaters, through the fresh water upper river, the brackish middle and then through the salt water section that flows east of the Dixie Highway bridge into Jupiter Inlet,” comments Snyder.
“I also think many people will find themselves visiting parts of the river they’ve never been to, even though they may have lived here for years. After all, not everyone has a boat, and a lot of the people who do have boats zoom right out the inlet without ever really getting to know the wild and scenic upper river, ” adds Snyder.
The annual fundraiser for the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum weaves a variety of cultural offerings. So whether you are a history, book, music or art lover, you are sure to have an amazing experience at the sparkling Lighthouse River Rendezvous.
