Jupiter Police
Jupiter Police are reminding us of an ongoing scam occurring in the area.
Suspects approach elderly victims at their homes and may identify themselves as exterminators or general laborers/contractors. They begin a conversation with the victim, advising the victim that they are spraying “acid” around properties in the area to prevent spiders and other insects.
During the conversation, the suspect will “accidently” spray the victim’s hands/body with a substance. The suspects advise the victim to take off their jewelry and wash immediately.
Once the victim removes their jewelry, the suspects leave the residence with the jewelry.
Call authorities if you observe suspicious subjects.
