Baldy Eats Highlights the Treasure Coast Food Scene & Supporting Mom & Pop Restaurants [VIDEO]

When Baldy Eats first picked up a camera and walked into a local restaurant with one of his kids filming behind him, he was following a passion.

Just over a year later, he’s become the fastest-growing voice for authentic and exciting food reviews on the Treasure Coast. With millions of views and an expanding fan base, Baldy isn’t just critiquing dishes—he’s spotlighting what makes local small businesses special.

Baldy’s journey began, like many great ideas, with frustration. After moving to the Treasure Coast, he noticed a recurring narrative that the local food scene was lacking. He felt that mom-and-pop restaurants were often unfairly written off, and many locals claimed the only good food was found in larger metro areas. For Baldy—a lifelong foodie originally from Brooklyn and South Florida—that didn’t sit right.

How Baldy’s Food Reviews Started

He started visiting restaurants across Port St. Lucie, Fort Pierce, Stuart, Vero Beach, and beyond. Armed with a cell phone, he began filming and editing reviews that showed not just the food but the experience. That means 360-degree views of the space, genuine reactions to first bites, and an honest rating system. The goal was to help people feel comfortable walking into unfamiliar places and encourage them to try something new.

Beyond the Bite

While Baldy’s content is packed with personality and humor, there’s a deeper purpose behind it. He knows that for many viewers—especially women or those unfamiliar with certain cuisines—stepping into a new spot can feel intimidating. His videos break down that barrier, giving people a glimpse of what to expect before they walk through the door.

As Baldy puts it, “I love both positive and negative feedback. The negative fuels me. But I’ve had so many people thank me just for going into a place they were nervous about. That’s why I do it.”

Local Love and Real Reviews

Baldy has reviewed hundreds of restaurants—from the hidden to the hyped. Some of his favorites? Flavor Barbecue in Fort Pierce, known for its unforgettable candied oxtail. High on the Hog, a humble food truck that serves some of the best barbecue in the region. And of course, his top-rated pizza: Uncle Giuseppe’s Lil’ Bit A Brooklyn in Stuart—a family-run slice of the Big Apple right in Martin County.

His winner for the best wings in our region is the Thirsty Turtle Seagrill, which has locations on the Treasure Coast in Jensen Beach, Fort Pierce, Port St. Lucie, Juno Beach, and Vero Beach.

One thing he’s proud of is that he won’t fake it. While he does charge for his time, he’s never accepted money for a positive review. “My reviews are real and authentic,” he says. “I’ll never trash a small business, but I’ll keep it honest. It’s about helping people, not tearing anyone down.”

Built on Purpose

From Facebook to TikTok to Instagram to YouTube, Baldy is easily accessible. He’s especially proud of building a strong following on all of his platforms so that he can connect with a large range of ages and demographics.

And he’s not stopping anytime soon. With restaurants opening every day and food scenes like Sebastian, Hobe Sound, and Vero Beach growing rapidly, Baldy has no shortage of content. His mission remains the same: support small businesses, encourage locals to explore, and keep the Treasure Coast food culture thriving.

Why It Matters

As Port St. Lucie continues to rank among the fastest-growing cities in America, the need for authentic local voices like Baldy’s is more important than ever. He’s showing us that it’s not just about the food—it’s about the people, the places, and the connections we make around a table.

And if you’ve ever driven past a spot and wondered what it’s like inside, chances are Baldy’s already been there. Or if not, he’s on his way.
