Dozens of Pot Plants Discovered

St Lucie County Deputies say three men are in custody after a search uncovered dozens of marijuana plants inside a Fort Pierce home.

Investigators say they found dozens of pot plants and extensive machinery needed to keep them growing inside the house on Ocala Avenue.

Investigators say anonymous tips led them to search the Fort Pierce home Wednesday afternoon. When they did, they found no personal effects inside or working bathrooms. Instead, it had been completely converted into a marijuana growth operation which included timers, lighting, air circulation and cooling.

Deputies say hidden surveillance cameras had caught Daikel Dumont-Rodriquez, Orley Recio, and Wildo Dumont tending to the plants nearly every day for several weeks.

Investigators say the electrical meter had also been tampered with and items inside show the men intended to package and sell the drugs.

All three men were arrested and taken to the St. Lucie County jail.
