Young Deer Freed and Back Roaming the Woods

A young deer is back roaming the woods, after Martin County Sheriff’s Deputies worked to free the animal from a soccer net, at Halpatiokee Park yesterday morning.

The deer’s head and neck was completely tangled in the net, when deputies arrived. Deputy Erick Day, and Deputy Becky Brady, tried to calm the frightened deer, as they worked to free it. Their efforts were a success, and the deer ran off into the woods, without further incident. Great job deputies!!
