Waveland Beach is a family-friendly stretch of shoreline off South Ocean Drive in Jensen Beach in St. Lucie County.
The beach is the southernmost in St. Lucie County with lifeguards. Waveland Beach also marks the start of a bike path that is 13.2 miles long and takes riders along A1A toward Blue Heron Boulevard to the south of Fort Pierce Beach.
Waveland Beach offers restrooms and swimming and is open from dawn until dusk, although hours could change and should be verified before planning a visit. This small public beach has parking and tends to be quieter than many of the other Jensen-Stuart beaches. It’s about a mile north of the Jensen Beach public access.
While this is a subjective question, many visitors to Waveland Beach feel that it’s quiet, doesn’t get too crowded, and is a beautiful beach in the area.
There are several hotels near Waveland Beach, including some chains and independent inns.
The beach itself is a big draw in the area for swimming, walking, beachcombing, and wildlife viewing. Also nearby are Jensen Beach attractions like the historic downtown and museums; the Florida Oceanographic Coastal Center is relatively close, and there are fishing shops close, too. Indian Riverside Park is another popular local attraction that’s close to Waveland Beach.
