Directly off of South Ocean Drive on Hutchinson Island, you’ll find Walton Rocks Beach. Just south of Blind Creek Beach, Walton Rocks Beach is on the Atlantic Ocean and is in Jensen Beach. It’s one of the top-rated things to do in Jensen Beach, Florida, because of the clean and quiet beach area and the pet-friendliness of the park.

Walton Rocks Beach is 24 acres of beachfront where dogs can freely roam. The coastline and landscape are scenic, making it a spot not only to spend time with pets but also to find shells and watch wildlife, including sea turtles. The sand is soft, the water is clear, and swimming is allowed at the beach, although there are no lifeguards on duty.

There are several areas with free parking at Walton Rock Beach, and it’s an accessible walk. The beach is family-friendly, with picnic tables. While the Walton Rocks Beach dog park is off-leash, visitors are still responsible for having a leash on hand and ensuring their pets are well-supervised. According to park guidelines, leashes can’t be more than eight feet long.  

There is a restroom facility at this dog-friendly beach in St. Lucie County and a hose to rinse dogs off. Nearby hiking trails close to Walton Rocks Beach include Indian Riverside Park, which is located in Jensen Beach. There are restaurants located near the beach park, many of which offer outdoor, dog-friendly dining. Covered pavilions are also available on-site at the Walton Rocks dog beach.

The hours of the park are currently from dawn to dusk, but this is subject to change, and you should verify before planning your visit.
