How Thanksgiving Works on the Treasure Coast
The Treasure Coast has three ways to do Thanksgiving without cooking a whole turkey. You can book a table, pick up a cooked meal, or find a free community dinner. This guide covers all three across Martin County, St. Lucie County, Indian River County, and Okeechobee County.
Menus, prices, and hours change every year. The details below come from restaurant pages, local news coverage, and community listings. Where a number comes from a past season, the guide says so. Treat past prices as a range to expect, not a quote.
If your main goal is a free or low-cost plate, start with our companion list of Thanksgiving meals, free and low-cost places that are open. Then come back here to compare the paid options.

Dine-In Thanksgiving Dinner
Dine-in prices vary a lot on the Treasure Coast. A casual chain meal costs far less than a resort buffet. The right pick depends on your group size, your budget, and whether you want a long, relaxed meal.
Downtown Stuart: Pepe & Sale
Pepe & Sale has a dedicated Thanksgiving page for a seasonal Italian dinner in downtown Stuart. The page lists an evening service with an asterisk next to the hours, so call to confirm the final times. I could not verify a set menu or price, so ask when you book.
- Address: 101 SE Ocean Blvd, Unit 103, Stuart, FL 34994
- Phone: (772) 872-6251
- Reservations: Online booking and phone, through the restaurant’s Thanksgiving page
Stuart has more holiday-friendly choices if this one is full. See our guides to Downtown Stuart restaurants and fine dining in Stuart for places to call.
Resort Dining in Vero Beach
Oceanfront resorts in Vero Beach are the most common spots for a big holiday spread. In past seasons, The Wave Kitchen & Bar at Costa d’Este Beach Resort & Spa served a buffet with a seafood display, cheese and charcuterie, a hot buffet, and desserts. Reported adult prices were about $99 to $100, with children ages 4 to 12 near $30 to $32, plus tax and tip.
Service times have changed between seasons. One year the buffet ran as an evening dinner, and another year it ran as a daytime brunch buffet. That is a good reason to confirm before you plan your day.
- Address: 3244 Ocean Dr, Vero Beach, FL 32963
- Restaurant phone: (772) 410-0100
- Website: costadeste.com
Reported guest sentiment about the resort is mixed on value. Some reviewers praise the service and the setting. At least one review says food and drink prices felt high, so check the full per-person cost before you commit.
The Kimpton Vero Beach Hotel & Spa is the other oceanfront option. Its restaurant, Cobalt, has appeared in local Thanksgiving roundups, and reservations were recommended. Reviewers describe the food and service there in positive terms.
- Address: 3500 Ocean Dr, Vero Beach, FL 32963
- Phone (as listed in local coverage): (772) 666-4002

Casual and Gastropub Options
Curfew in downtown Vero Beach has offered a three-course Thanksgiving meal in past seasons at about $60 per person. Reservations were suggested but not required. The address is 1932 14th Ave, Vero Beach, and the phone is (772) 205-2212.
Polo Steak & Sea in Vero Beach has been listed with a four-course turkey dinner at about $66 per person. Call the restaurant for current details. Our older roundup of places to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner in Vero Beach has more background.
Hutchinson Island and Martin County Resorts
The Marriott Hutchinson Island Resort & Beach Villas, Golf & Marina sits on a large property with several restaurants, based on guest reviews. I could not confirm a Thanksgiving menu. Call (772) 225-3700 and ask which on-property restaurants take holiday reservations. The resort is at 555 NE Ocean Blvd, Stuart, FL 34996, and our Hutchinson Island guide has more on the area.
The Easy Chain Option: Cracker Barrel
The Cracker Barrel Old Country Store in Jensen Beach is the most budget-friendly dine-in pick. The company says its restaurants are open regular hours on Thanksgiving Day. A traditional meal is served starting at 11 a.m.
Press coverage describes the meal as roasted turkey breast, cornbread dressing with gravy, green beans, sweet potato casserole, and cranberry relish. The company also says a limited menu runs on the Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of Thanksgiving week. High volume can fill time slots, so go early or call ahead.
- Address: 4101 NW Federal Hwy, Jensen Beach, FL 34957

Takeout and Catering Packages
Takeout is the best fit for families who want to eat at home but skip the cooking. These packages usually come cold or partly cooked with reheating directions. Most have order cutoffs, and some sell out.
Cracker Barrel Heat & Serve
Cracker Barrel sells two sizes. The Feast serves 8 to 10 people, and the Family Dinner serves 4 to 6. The meal includes sliced turkey, gravy, dressing, green beans, mashed potatoes, cranberry relish, rolls, and pie.
The company’s pickup tips say orders need about 12 hours of notice. Pickup has run across a window from the weekend before Thanksgiving to the weekend after. Delivery is not offered on Thanksgiving Day, and guests stay in their cars while staff bring the order out. A third-party summary put past family dinners near $110 to $115 and feasts near $175 to $200, so check the current price online.
Local Pickup Meals
Independent restaurants post their own deadlines. Here is a sample of what local coverage has reported in past seasons.
- Dinner Revolution, Vero Beach: A cold, reheat-at-home dinner reported at about $38 per person. Orders were taken by phone or in person with a cutoff the day before pickup. The address is 1327 21st St, Vero Beach.
- Pepper & Salt BBQ, Vero Beach: Meats sold whole, such as brisket, turkey breast, ham, and pork butt. Cold sides came in half pans, and pies were sold separately. A 10% deposit was required, and pickup was Thanksgiving morning. The address is 2745 Saint Lucie Ave, Vero Beach, and the phone is (772) 494-6426.
- Chef’s Table, Stuart: Local coverage has noted that it takes orders for turkeys and dinners. Call the restaurant for current packages.
- Bob Evans, Fort Pierce: A local family blog has described Farmhouse Feasts for 8 to 10 people at roughly $130, with an order deadline the day before Thanksgiving. Confirm details with the restaurant.
For other options, see our Treasure Coast restaurants directory. Call any local spot you like and ask if it offers a holiday pickup menu. Small restaurants often announce theirs only on social media.
Free and Low-Cost Community Meals
Free meals are open to anyone. You do not need to prove need at most of them. Many are run by churches, food pantries, and volunteers, and they can change locations from year to year.
St. Lucie County
Mustard Seed Ministries is a large, long-running holiday meal provider in Fort Pierce. In a recent season, more than 100 volunteers prepared nearly 1,500 meals, handed out from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in front of St. Anastasia Catholic School. An earlier season reported more than 3,000 meals. Check mustardseedslc.org for the current location and time.
Community groups also feed people experiencing homelessness. One Fort Pierce nonprofit, Stabilize Revitalize, has teamed up with a local burger restaurant for Thanksgiving Day meals. A local blog also listed a drive-thru dinner at GraceWay Village, 1780 Hartman Road, Fort Pierce, in a past year. Call before you go.
Food Bank and Holiday Boxes
The Treasure Coast Food Bank covers Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River, and Okeechobee counties. It has held drive-thru Thanksgiving distributions with partners, such as an event at Percy Peek Gymnasium, 2902 Avenue D, Fort Pierce, on the Saturday before the holiday. That one ran from 8 a.m. to noon or until supplies lasted. The food bank’s phone is (772) 489-3034, and its holiday help page is stophunger.org/findhelp-holiday.
Reviews of food bank programs are mixed. Some families praise the staff and volunteers. A few reviewers describe crowded distributions and item limits, so arrive early and bring patience.
Martin, Indian River, and Okeechobee Counties
Churches in Stuart and Vero Beach have hosted Thanksgiving meals for years, but locations and times change. I could not confirm any Okeechobee County community dinner. The best step is to call 211 Helpline Palm Beach and Treasure Coast, which posts a yearly list of meal sites at 211palmbeach.org. For eating out in that area, see our guide to places to eat in Okeechobee.
Comparing Your Options
- Lowest cost to you: Free community meals. Expect a first-come line and a set pickup window.
- Best value dine-in: Cracker Barrel. It costs less than a resort buffet and needs no long planning.
- Most special occasion: Resort dining on the barrier island. Expect higher prices and required reservations.
- Best for leftovers: Heat-and-serve or whole-meat pickups. These serve groups of four to twelve.
- Most flexible: A downtown restaurant like Pepe & Sale. Call for its menu and seating.
Practical Planning Tips
Book and Order Early
Call or book resort and downtown tables as soon as menus are posted, often in early to mid-fall. Takeout cutoffs are usually the weekend before the holiday or a day or two before. Seasonal residents fill the coast from November on, so popular tables go fast.
Confirm Three Things Every Time
Ask about the exact service window, the price per person with tax and tip, and the cancellation rule. Ask whether children’s pricing applies and what age it covers. For takeout, ask if the food is hot or cold and how long it keeps.
Use Reliable Sources
Restaurant websites and phone lines beat social posts for accuracy. For free meals, use 211 or the host’s own page. Our holidays page is a good place to look for other seasonal plans.
Pick a Backup
If your first choice is full, have a second option ready. A casual chain or a heat-and-serve meal often has room later than a fixed-seating buffet. Keep your confirmation details handy for pickup.
Frequently Asked Questions
When is Thanksgiving?
Thanksgiving falls on the fourth Thursday of November each year. Many restaurants post holiday plans in October or early November.
Do I need a reservation?
For resort buffets and fixed-seating dinners, yes. Costa d’Este’s restaurant has required them in past seasons. Casual spots like Curfew have suggested them, and Cracker Barrel can fill its time slots, so calling ahead helps.
How far ahead do I need to order takeout?
It depends on the seller. Cracker Barrel’s Heat & Serve meals need about 12 hours of notice, per its pickup tips. Local restaurants have used cutoffs of a day or two before the holiday, and some take deposits.
Are there free Thanksgiving meals in St. Lucie County?
Yes. Mustard Seed Ministries in Fort Pierce has served free meals for years, and the Treasure Coast Food Bank holds holiday distributions. Confirm current details on their websites or through 211.
Can I get a Thanksgiving meal in Okeechobee County?
I could not verify a specific community dinner there. Call 211 or the Treasure Coast Food Bank at (772) 489-3034 for current help in the area.
