Curtis Lee Lockett from Vero Beach is charged with driving drunk and then resisting arrest. Dashboard cameras caught the action early Sunday morning as Vero Beach police spotted his red Buick on US 1 near 26th Street. Police say he was speeding and swerving. When officers tried to pull him over, a passenger threw a cup full of liquid out of the window. After he stopped, Lockett admitted to drinking two beers before getting into the car. Police say he failed several sobriety tests and was taken into custody. Inside the car were 5 children between the ages of 10 to 16 years old. Officer Anna Carden said not only were the kids not wearing seat belts, but they weren’t even his children.

Police say the kids were voluntarily with Lockett but what they were doing is still a mystery. Lockett is charged with DUI, 5 counts of child abuse, resisting arrest and tampering with evidence. He’s being held in Indian River County Jail with no bond.
