TWO DAYS, TWO ROAD RAGE INCIDENTS INVOLVING GUNS, TWO ARRESTS
Two days, and two instances of road rage involving a gun. On Friday, a Ft. Pierce man was arrested. On Saturday, a Stuart man was located and arrested, after guns were drawn during two separate road rage incidents.
Friday’s incident happened along NW Federal Highway and NW Goldenrod Road. Deputies located, 29-year old Charles Clarke III, of Ft. Pierce, after a motorist reported that Clarke pulled a gun on her following a traffic incident. The victim told deputies she accidentally cut Clark off, and he became angry. Deputies located Clark, who told them that the victim instigated the matter by intentionally cutting him off. Deputies did find a gun in Clarke’s vehicle along with a small amount of narcotics. He was arrested after the victim positively identified him.
Saturday’s incident happened on Salerno Road. The victim in this case told deputies that 49-year old Kevin Carey of Stuart pulled a gun on him in a parking lot. The victim, who was operating a motorcycle, told deputies that Carey was tailgating him for about a mile. He tried to get away by pulling into the parking lot. The motorist told deputies, that Carey followed him, opened the door of his pick-up truck, and pointed a gun at him. Carey then closed the door and drove away. The victim called the sheriff’s office. Deputies were able to locate Carey, who continued to change his story about the incident. He was placed under arrest as well.
Both Carey and Clarke were taken to the Martin County Jail and charged with aggravate assault with a deadly weapon. Carey was released on a $2,500 bond, Clark’s bond was $5,000.
