High School basketball, a career night for one Martin County Senior.
The game was stopped momentarily as head coach John Leon and athletic director Mark Cowles presented Noel with the special 1,000 career point basketball at center court.
The home crowd gave Noel a standing ovation, and when play resumed Noel continued to put on a show, finishing with a game high 25 points.
But it was the South Fork Bulldogs who were celebrating at the end of the night. South Fork held off the high flying Tigers to win 65-62.
KJ Lee finished with 5 three-pointers and a team high 19 points. Both teams combined for 15 three-pointers in the game.
With the regular season over, the district tournaments are set to start this week.
In District 8-9A Vero Beach takes on St Lucie West Centennial tonight. On Wednesday the winner will take on Treasure Coast, while Martin County plays Fort Pierce Central.
On Wednesday, Port St Lucie hosts Westwood in the District 15-6A semifinal. South Fork plays Okeechobee. Jensen Beach plays Bayside in the District 13-7A semifinals.

High School basketball, it was the quarterfinal round of the District 8-9A playoffs. Vero Beach rallied from being down 43-37 in the fourth quarter to defeat Centennial 56-47. The win was especially sweet for Vero Beach. It was win number 600 for head coach Chuck Loewendick at the school. Loewendick is now 600-237 in 29 years at Vero Beach, which advances to the semifinals where they will take on top seeded Treasure Coast Wednesday at 5pm at Martin County High School. Martin County will host Fort Pierce Central Wednesday at 7pm.
