Tradition Regional Park Breaks Ground for 2025 Opening in Port St. Lucie

Tradition Regional Park has broken ground for a 2025 opening in Port St. Lucie. Port St. Lucie has an incredible park system and continues adding new parks so locals can have an improved active outdoor lifestyle. Last year, Port St. Lucie opened Pioneer Park, which was a great success for the city, and this year, Port St. Lucie is focusing on developing Tradition Regional Park.

Tradition Regional Park is the city’s first regional park. Unlike a community park, it’s designed to serve all of St. Lucie County. The groundbreaking ceremony for Tradition Regional Park took place on July 17, 2024. During the ceremony, city officials expressed excitement that the park was finally under construction. Mayor Shannon Martin stated how important it was that Port St. Lucie has an elaborate park system that encourages residents to have an active lifestyle.

The City Council, St Lucie County, and Mattamy Homes worked together to develop the park. The city is also working with Lucido and Associates on the park’s land planning and landscape architecture.

The highlight of Tradition Regional Park is its cutting-edge USA BMX All-Wheel race track. The BMX track is one of a kind, created with every resident in mind. The BMX track is multi-use and can accommodate various wheeled activities. Although the track is ideal for BMX riders, it can also accommodate skateboarding and inline skating and will have a special children’s zone where little kids can learn to ride their bikes in a safe area.

The city is also considering adding a bark park to Tradition Regional Park, which would provide a space for pet owners. The park will also be very kid-friendly, with an Adventure Playground for all ages.

Other park amenities will include disc golf, an art event space, and a place for a food truck. The park’s amphitheater will offer the perfect space for outdoor concerts and other community events. Port St. Lucie’s Tradition Regional Park will have many wonderful amenities and be a great addition to the region.

Developers are creating multiple baseball, soccer, and softball fields. Tradition Regional Park will also have a multi-purpose field. The park will cover 124 acres. Tradition Regional Park will also be a great place to explore nature, with observation areas, trails, and a canoe and kayak launch. It will be a place for the community to connect and enjoy the outdoors.

What Makes Tradition Regional Park Different?

Tradition Regional Park was designed with sports enthusiasts in mind. It will be one of the only BMX parks in the region. BMX is the nation’s largest cycling organization, with at least 70,000 members. Port St. Lucie will become a prime spot for BMX races on the Treasure Coast and in Florida. However, the flexibility of the BMX track makes it a useful space for all.

The state-of-the-art BMX track will be 1100 feet, and a pump track will flow into the BMX track. It will be concrete, like a skate park, but shaped like a BMX track. The track will also be suitable for people with mobility challenges, making it a unique place for everyone. Port St. Lucie’s Tradition Regional Park will be the world’s first all-wheel inclusive race track. The all-wheel park makes it a truly unique space and fun destination.

Where is Tradition Regional Park?

Tradition Regional Park is at 13120 SW Tradition Parkway. It’s in the western portion of Tradition Parkway, not far from Tradition Preparatory High School and Renaissance Charter School. The park is located a quarter mile from the Tradition Parkway Terminus.

Residents will also have access to trails to enter the park, providing a method of entry for people who prefer not to use vehicles. Additionally, residents can use the Tradition in Motion shuttle to get to the park. The parking lot will have more than 400 spaces so that it can accommodate large crowds for BMX races. Port St. Lucie city officials expect the park to be a highly sought-after destination by locals and BMX fans.

Tradition Regional isn’t the only park the city is looking forward to. A Stars and Stripes Park is also in the planning stages. The park will be an open-air destination filled with flowers, ponds, pathways, and an open field.
