SUSPECT IN VIOLENT ORCHID STREET BURGLARY RELEASED FROM HOSPITAL
He is now officially charged.
Martin County Sheriff’s Detectives, working in the capacity of the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force, arrested 19-year old as he was being released from the hospital this afternoon. Gallo was charged with Burglary with an Assault or Battery. Gallo apologized to detectives saying he was sorry for what he did and takes full responsibility for his actions. He gave a full confession. His bond is $300,000.
Gallo is the man who crashed through the window of a home on Orchid Street early Sunday morning. He began attacking the homeowner and her son in a violent struggle. The homeowner began hitting Gallo with a baseball bat, but that did not slow him down. The woman’s son was able to restrain the suspect until deputies arrived. Gallo’s friend told deputies that the two were ingesting drugs prior to the unprovoked and random attack.
He appeared before a judge Wednesday video conference at the Martin County Courthouse. He remained quiet as his attorney, Joshua Deckard, asked the judge that the 19 year old to be released on his own recognizance.
Deckard also asked for Gallo to be held on house arrest and ankle monitoring so that he could recover from his injuries. Deputies say he was on synthetic drugs when he dove through the window of a home in Stuart and began attacking a mother and her adult son. The judge denied the request. Gallo is facing charges of burglary and assault. He’s being held on a $300,000 bond.
