Stuart one step closer to Backyard Chickens!
Stuart residents are one step closer to being able to own chickens.
The Stuart city commission voted 3-2 yesterday to tentatively approve owning backyard chickens, with some regulations. Only residents of single-family homes would be allowed to keep chickens. Up to 4 chickens would be allowed on a half-acre or smaller property, and the city would make it a violation for any chicken-related odors that can be detected at the property’s border.
A final vote is expected May 8th.
