Street named in honor of Deputy Garry Chambliss
This morning, the Indian River County Commission voted unanimously to rename 28th Avenue in Gifford. The new name will be Deputy Garry Chambliss Memorial Avenue. New signs will be placed along 28th Avenue between 41st Street and 45th Street.
Indian River County Sheriff Deryl Loar stated, “The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office will forever remain mindful of the tragic loss of one of our own. This befitting tribute to Garry will serve as a reminder of his honorable dedication to his family, the community, and our agency. Our detectives continue to work diligently to bring his killer to justice.”
