St Lucie Sheriff warns of new scam
St Lucie County, Fl (treasurecoast.com)- The St.Lucie Sheriff is warning the public about a new scam.
This is what they said:
A new scam is circulating. Callers are impersonating high ranking officials within our agency regarding jury duty and asking you to pay a fee.
The number associated with these calls is 772-293-6313 and when they call they say they’re from “County Sheriff’s Office”.
The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office, along with FPL, the Social Security Administration and many other organizations will NEVER ask you to 1) pay over the phone and 2) pay for ANYTHING using a gift card.
If you receive a call such as this, HANG UP!
