St. Lucie County’s Tourism Office experienced a 12.7 percent increase in bed tax revenue for the 2014-15 budget year, compared to last year’s record-setting year.
The office, which handles all the marketing to promote St. Lucie County as a tourist destination, set a new high bringing in more than $3.4 million in bed tax revenue.
Once again, March was St. Lucie County’s busiest tourism month, setting a new high generating more than $546,145 in bed tax funds.
And most notably, September 2015, typically the County’s lowest generating month also set a record high bringing in $170,765 – the highest amount ever collected for that month in the history of St. Lucie County’s bed tax collections.
