Martin County Sheriff William Snyder has announced the creation of the Sheriff’s Crime Suppression Team, a six member unit—comprised of deputies, and officers from Stuart Police.
The team targets small crimes before they turn into bigger ones.
Snyder says an increase in the crime rate prompted formation of the team that looks out for infractions, county ordinance violations, and crimes in general—smaller issues that lead to bigger ones.
In two weeks time, Snyder says the unit has made more than 75 arrests.
