Serious Crash Walton and Indian River Drive

Port St. Lucie, Fl(treasurecoast.com)-  PSLPD Traffic Homicide Investigators are investigating a serious traffic accident at the intersection of Walton Rd/Indian River Dr.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a silver Toyota driven by an adult female was traveling East on Walton Rd came over the railroad tracks and struck a silver Chevy at the stop sign on Walton Rd/Indian River Drive. Both vehicles went down the approximate 30 foot embankment into the Indian River Waterway. Prior to going over the embankment a silver Toyota truck was clipped in the rear.

A pedestrian drove his side by side-ATV over with a rope attached. Three PSLPD Officers initially went down the approximate 30 foot embankment to check on the occupants.
St Lucie County Fire District arrived and assisted in extracting the drivers, and bringing both drivers from their vehicles up the embankment with stretchers.
Both drivers were adult females and transported to a local hospital. The driver of the vehicle that caused the accident was pronounced deceased. The driver of the vehicle that was stopped at the intersection sustained serious injuries. The driver of the third vehicle which was clipped by the vehicles did not sustain injuries and actually went down the embankment to assist in the rescue efforts.
