About Sawfish Bay Park

Sawfish Bay Park is an excellent recreational park in Palm Beach County. With a wide range of amenities and facilities, they cater to most of the recreational needs of the local community. With playgrounds and picnic areas, it’s a perfect place to take the family for gatherings or just a day out.

As a small linear park, Sawfish Bay Park, Jupiter, FL, sits nicely along the Intracoastal Waterway for approximately 2.5 acres. The boardwalk along the water provides for a great place to take a leisurely walk or partake in Saltwater fishing.

Pavilions and picnic tables are great for gatherings and the boat launch allows for canoes and kayaks to easily enter the clear water. Recently constructed restrooms now replace the outhouses under the bridge for more modern conveniences.

There are a few historic buildings in the park and the area dates back to the first settlers about 5,000 years ago. It was a popular location with Native Americans as it’s the meeting place of the Loxahatchee River and the Jupiter Inlet. Sawfish Bay was considered the Heart of Jupiter in the 1890s when the railway was under construction. In fact, one of the historic buildings that was saved in the park is the old Train Depot built in 1915. It’s one of only 8 surviving depots from the period.
