RIP Tom Petty 1950-2017
On behalf of the Tom Petty family we are devastated to announce the untimely death of our father, husband, brother, leader and friend Tom Petty.
Tom suffered cardiac arrest at his home in Malibu in the early hours of this morning. He was taken to UCLA Medical Center. Eventually he could not be revived.
Tom died peacefully at 8:40pm PST surrounded by family, his bandmates and friends.

Petty was born October 20, 1950, in Gainesville, Florida, the first of two sons of Earl and Kitty Petty.
