PSLPD investigating early morning shooting at Peacock Run Apartments.
On May 1, 2017 at around 1:15 am, Port St. Lucie Police went to 5524 NW East Torino Parkway, Peacock Run Apartments, for reports of a shooting.
Preliminary investigation revealed that there were 4 teens in the living room, two younger boys in a back bedroom, and an adult female with another younger girl in the master bedroom. At around 1:15 am the teens in the living room heard a knock on the door. After answering the door two suspects armed with handguns confronted the teens. One teen ran into the bathroom and shut the door. One of the suspects shot his gun through the bathroom door hitting the teen in the abdomen.
During the shooting the adult female exits her master bedroom armed with a handgun. There was another shooting where one of the two suspects were struck in the wrist with a bullet. The two suspects then flee the apartment, enter a car that was in the parking lot, then drives away from the scene.
The teen with the gunshot wound to the abdomen was taken to a nearby hospital where he is being treated for his wounds. Later in the morning the suspect that was shot in the wrist showed up at the hospital for treatment. Both gunshot victims are expected to survive their injuries.
